Are contact sheets more interesting than finished prints?

A print is an answer. A contact sheet is a set of questions. Changes in posture, exposure and framing become visible in a way that a single chosen photograph cannot show.

For an archive of analogue work, should contact sheets be kept as primary objects, or mainly as tools for discovering the individual frames?

There is no wrong preference here — collectors and viewers often want different things.
